The Burden In Your Heart – Copy – Copy

Jdg 6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. 13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. 14 And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee”

THE PICTURE

I was taking a class of children through the Open Heavens devotional one day and I realised that I had to pause often to explain the devotional to them. They were under twelve years old, and it was not easy for them to comprehend reading it by themselves. Then I wished there could be a devotional for children that they could use by themselves. And I had hardly completed that prayer session that the thought came to me that I could write one. That was way back in 2006, and it led to my writing the Here I am devotionals. A burden I felt in my heart was placed in my laps to take on.

Our scripture for today was the moment Gideon encountered an angel, and he confronted him with the burden he felt for the state of their nation. How they were supposed to be the elect of God but were suffering under oppression of the Midianites. The angel did not bother to answer his questions and complaints. He told him that he would be the one to save Israel. This is a pattern of call to service that many ignore. When you complain too much about an issue and are burdened about it, you are already prepared by Heaven to solve the problem. The heaviness of your burden is directly related to you being used as a tool to solve the problem.

As often is the case, just like Gideon, he felt he was not qualified to lead Israel nor his family relevant to the nation to that level. But the lord looks at the heart. Your heart is touched by what you are designed to take care of. So, whenever a situation leaves you burdened, note that there is a call to service in it. It is not for you to just complain about how wrong things are. Seek an opportunity to solve the problem.

‘And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee” The depth of your burden is the might of your strength to be the solution provider. For in there lies the passion that Heaven uses as fuel to mould destinies.

Good day folks.
